UPDATE: Mobile Home Fire At Green Acres
At about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Leesburg Fire Department was called to Green Acres Mobile Home Park near Warsaw where neighbors reported a mobile home on fire.
The home at lot 128 had heavy smoke pouring from it when firefighters arrived on scene.
Leesburg Fire Chief Michael Wilson said when firefighters arrived at the scene they found the front door of the residence kicked in. Wilson said the neighbor who reported the fire is the one who kicked in the door when he saw the smoke.
The homeowner, Cheryl Hartman, was at Kosciusko Community Hospital when the fire started.
Wilson blamed the small fire on an electric skillet that had been left on in the kitchen. The fire damaged kitchen cabinets and caused smoke damage throughout the home. He estimated the loss at about $5,000.
The mobile home park is located at 1692 E. CR 200 N., in Warsaw.
