Trojans Best Bremen
BOURBON – The Triton boys basketball team took another step towards a conference championship Thursday night.
The host Trojans controlled the contest en route to besting Bremen 54-37 in Northern State Conference play.
Senior star Clay Yeo produced a game-high 22 points as the Trojans improved to 12-5 overall and 5-1 in league play.
Triton, currently tied atop the NSC standings with New Prairie at 5-1, can clinch at least a share of the conference crown with a win at Knox Feb. 22 in the NSC and regular-season finale. New Prairie closes out league play at Glenn on Feb. 15.
The Trojans led 14-9 after the opening quarter and 27-15 at intermission Thursday night en rout to their fourth straight win.
Seth Glingle canned 13 points for the winners. Joey Corder scored eight, Tanner Shepherd six and Cody Shively five for the Trojans.
Jacob Box was the lone Bremen player to tally in double figures with 19 points. The Lions fall to 9-7 overall and finish 4-3 in the NSC.
Triton hosts Rochester and Bremen plays at Tippecanoe Valley Tuesday evening.
