Church Donates After Month-long Diaper Drive
Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church held a month-long diaper drive in January for Heartline Pregnancy Center. A donation of over 3,500 diapers and 70 packages of wipes was collected by the congregation and delivered to Heartline.
The diapers will be used in the B.A.B.E. Boutique and through the Emergency Assistance program at Heartline Pregnancy Center.
Heartline Pregnancy Center is asking local churches to host diaper drives monthly throughout 2013. “This is a tremendous opportunity for churches to give tangibly to Heartline. We always have a need for auxiliary items in our B.A.B.E. Boutique. We are anxious to see what other churches do now that WEPC has set the standard,“ commented Emily Shipley, development coordinator for Heartline.
Churches interested in participating can call Heartline at 574-267-5110 or email [email protected]. Donations of all kinds are accepted Monday thru Friday at the Heartline Office located in the K21 Health Services Pavilion.
B.A.B.E. focuses on the needs of pregnant women and their families. This incentive program awards coupons for participation in various community, medical, social and educational services. These coupons are then used to obtain infant clothing, furnishings, and miscellaneous items at the “B.A.B.E. Boutique,” located in the K21 Health Services Pavilion under Heartline Pregnancy Center, Inc.
B.A.B.E. is designed to increase the utilization of and compliance with community services, to decrease infant mortality and increase birth weights, and to improve self-esteem and encourage responsibility in the lives of its participants.
