Mary E. ‘Scootie’ Bellman
Mary E. ‘Scootie’ Bellman, 75, of Nappanee, Ind., passed away at 7:04 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, from a short illness at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born April 24, 1937, in Rochester, Ind., to James and Helen (Lytle) Croussore. She graduated from Bremen High School in 1955. She married Glen “Whitey” Bellman on October 2, 1955 in Bremen, Ind. He survives.
They moved to Nappanee from Bremen in 1959. She was a homemaker and babysat. Mary attended Nappanee Missionary Church and she enjoyed bowling.
She is survived by her husband; sons: Jim (Rhonda) Bellman, Nappanee; Todd (Michelle) Bellman, Goshen; daughters: Terri Geyer, Nappanee; Deb (Ron) Ross, Bristol, Ind.; Tammy Martz, Nappanee; Tina (Dan) Newcomer, Nappanee; grandchildren: Jan (Christy) Geyer; Dustin (Stephanie) Geyer; Daric (fiancé Leah) Geyer; Isaac Bellman; Jacob Bellman; Amanda (Jesse) Bellman-Fritcher; Tabitha Bellman; Skye Bellman; Brittney Martz; Brett Martz; Bobby (Becca) Martz; Andrew Newcomer; Caleb Newcomer; Todd (Amy) Martz; Tristan McDougle; Chelsea (Jake) McDougle; as well as 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son-in-law: Bob Martz; great-granddaughter: Cala Geyer; and sisters: Pat Neff and Jenny Gilpin.
Friends may visit the family from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4 at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. The funeral will take place on Tues, at 10 a.m. at Nappanee Missionary Church. Pastor Norm Reimer and son-in-law Dan Newcomer will officiate. Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery.
