Gross Leads LCA
AUBURN – Alissa Gross had a career-high Tuesday night to lead the Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team in a strong performance at Lakewood Park Christian.
Gross scored a career-best 15 points as the Cougars lost 78-53 to the hosts.
The 53 points was the second-highest offensive output of the season for coach Ty Propp’s LCA squad, which drops to 4-15 with its second loss of the season to Lakewood Park.
The hosts led 19-9 after the opening quarter Tuesday night and 38-27 at halftime before outscoring LCA 30-12 in the third quarter to take control.
Jess Goss netted 11 points and Emilee Catron had nine for the Cougars. Hannah Remingtpn and Morgan Holsclaw each scored seven points for LCA.
Nicole Faur popped in 23 points and Rae Faur had 21 to lead Lakewood Park, which won its sixth straight game to improve to 14-4.
LCA plays at Whitko and Lakewood Park hosts Prairie Heights Thursday night.
