BZA Grants Setback Variance For Mobile Home Community
A mobile home community is expanding and the Warsaw Board of Zoning Appeals has given its approval to allow a variance from development standards.
The Forest Park Mobile Home Community at 3300 E. Old Colony Rd., Warsaw, plans to expand by adding approximately 29 additional mobile homes. While the city regulates setback standards of 10 feet from property lines, the city does not regulate internal setbacks in manufactured housing developments. Therefore, the request to allow 5-foot setbacks was approved with little discussion.
Rick Keeven, vice president of Warsaw BZA, simply asked if there were any concerns noted from neighbors about the request. Assistant city planner Tim Dombrosky said they received no comments or concerns regarding the petition.
New BZA members Jack Wilhite and Mary Ellen Jordan were sworn in at the onset of Monday night’s meeting. Additionally, Tom Allen and and Keeven were re-elected president and vice president of the BZA respectively.
The next meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25.
