Anna E. Borkholder
Anna E. Borkholder, 85, of Bremen, Ind., passed away at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa, Ind., where she had been since July. She suffered a stroke on June 20, 2012.
She was born Jan. 24, 1927, in LaGrange County, Ind., to Eli S. and Sarah (Herschberger) Lehman. She was born and raised in LaGrange County, and was a lifetime area resident of the Nappanee, Ind., area.
Anna was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. She married Eli D.S. Borkholder on Oct. 21, 1948, in LaGrange County. He survives.
She is survived by sons: Willis (Freida) Borkholder, Nappanee; Owen (Carolyn) Borkholder, Nappanee: Eli Jr. (Ruth) Borkholder, Bremen; Allen (Sharon) Borkholder, Bremen; daughters: Viola (Willard) Miller, New Paris, Ind.; Lucy (Darryl) Hochstetler, Nappanee; Susie (Randal) Hochstetler, Bremen; 45 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; brothers: Amos (Wilma) Lehman, Shipshewana, Ind.; Levi (Ann) Lehman, Wolcotville, Ind.; sisters: Edna (Ervin) Whetstone, Topeka, Ind.; Dena Miller, Millersburg, Ohio; Clara (Ammon) Bontrager, LaGrange.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Harvey Lehman.
Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, and all day Tuesday, at the family residence, 2058 E. B. Road, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wed. at Emory Kaufman’s Residence, 1699 B. Road, Bremen. Bishop Wilbur Kuhns and the Home Ministry will officiate. Burial will follow at Borkholder Cemetery.
