BOURBON – A strong second-half performance rallied Triton past Elkhart Christian Thursday night in non-conference boys basketball action.

The Trojans outscored the Eagles 29-18 in the second half to post a 44-37 victory.

Triton trailed 19-15 at halftime before rallying in the final 16 minutes. The hosts hit 15-of-22 free throws in the win, while Elkhart Christian was just 3-of-10 from the stripe.

The Trojans were playing without senior star Clay Yeo. The Valparaiso University recruit and Indiana All-Star candidate missed the game due to a concussion. Yeo is averaging 29 points-per-game this season.

The Trojans, who have beaten Elkhart Christian 11 straight times, improved to 6-3 with their fourth straight win.

The Eagles, who saw their five-game winning streak snapped, drop to 5-2.

Elkhart Christian was playing its first game without Cory Waycaster. The junior, who was the team’s second-leading scorer and top rebounder, has withdrawn from school due to financial reasons and will be enrolling at Jimtown.
