Consignment Shopping Benefits Cure JM
Boutique Exchange will donate 20 percent of its total sales on the last Wednesday of each month in 2013 to Cure JM. Cure JM provides support for families coping with Juvenile Myositis and raises awareness and funds research about the disease.
Kristine Alderfer of Winona Lake has a daughter with the disease. She is also a volunteer with Cure JM. “Our family is pleased Boutique Exchange chose to support a cause so near and dear to our heart,” Alderfer said.
JM is a rare autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system attacks its own cells and tissues. JM also includes Juvenile Dermatomyositis and Juvenile Polymyositis.
Melissa Ryan opened Boutique Exchange in 2004. Her store has always given back to the community and this cause was especially meaningful.
“Kristine and I served on a school committee in 2010 when her daughter was diagnosed,” Ryan said. “I have seen their struggle and I had to do something to help.”
Boutique Exchange sells consignment women’s clothing and accessories. The store is located at 710 East Winona Avenue in Warsaw, Indiana.
