He was born July 4, 1947, in Joliet, Ill., to John O. Evans Sr. and Phyllis (Johnson) Evans. He spent much of his childhood with his grandmother, whom he loved dearly.
John was a long-distance truck driver and served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. He also spent time at as the club secretary of the Warsaw Eagles 1339 and had been a member of the Warsaw Moose Lodge, prior to moving out of the area.
Survivors include his wife: LaDonna W. Evans, South Carolina; daughter: Shanna Atteberry, Warsaw; step-son: Kenny Collins, Warsaw; six grandchildren: Teryn, Claudia, Jesson, Tyler, Lizzie and Draven, all of Warsaw; sisters: Jackie Sears, Janet White, Kerry Lynn Barr and Christina Balser; a brother: Michael Evan; and a half-brother: Bob Evans.
John was preceded in death by a step-daughter: Tammy Collins.
