UPDATE: Syracuse Man Dies From Crash Injuries

Dec 23 Kosciusko County CrashA Syracuse man has died from injuries he suffered in a single vehicle crash earlier this week.

According to information provided by the Kosciusko County Fatal Accident Crash Team, Corey Kneller, 20, was injured in a crash near Tippecanoe Country Club early Sunday, Dec. 23.

Officers were called to Kosciusko Community Hospital at approximately 2:50 a.m. when Kneller was drove there by another party. Kneller was suffering from internal and head injuries and was later transferred to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Kosciusko County F.A.C.T./crash investigators and KCSD deputies later located Kneller’s vehicle off the west side of CR 400 East and CR 800 North. Milford Fire Department also arrived as Kneller’s 2001 Pontiac Grand Am had caught fire after striking a tree.

F.A.C.T. team investigators stated evidence at the scene indicated Kneller had been westbound on CR 800 North and failed to negotiate a curve and continued straight into a tree.

The original crash is still under investigation at this time. Alcohol is also believed to be a factor in the crash, but results of a legal blood draw is pending.
