Year-Long Molestation Investigation Ends With Arrest
A Goshen man under investigation since December 2011 for child molestation was arrested Sunday by an officer of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
Armando Ruiz, 34, was arrested on a warrant after felony charges were filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office earlier this month.
Ruiz is charged with two C felonies including child molesting and sexual misconduct with a minor under the age of 16.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the alleged incident occurred between Thanksgiving and Christmas 2011. The victim, then 14, said Ruiz offered to pop her pimples but would kiss her and rub her breasts while doing so. When the girl confided in another minor female about what happened, the second minor said Ruiz had also victimized her when she was approximately 4 years old.
Ruiz was accused by the second girl of inappropriately touching her and making the girl touch him.
Ruiz now resides in Goshen but was formerly a resident of Mentone and, as of December 2011, resided on West 200 North in Warsaw.
Ruiz was booked on a $5,000 surety bond.
