Penny Pitch Earns $2,300 For Families
Wawasee High School’s Key Club and National Honor Society teamed up last week to sponsor the annual penny pitch drive at the high school. The drive has been held annually for several years to assist needy high school students and their families in a variety of ways such as with medical expenses, clothing, food and more.
Gift cards are purchased to give to the students and their families.
This year a competition was held between classrooms during first period classes to see who could raise the most money. Dan Bauer’s class was the winner by averaging $31.81 donated per student. A total of $2,350.47 was raised this year and easily exceeded last year’s total.
