No New Leads In Missing Woman Case

Aurora ShoemakerAurora Shoemaker has now been missing almost four months and police are no closer to finding her.

Shoemaker, 18, was last seen around 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, when she left her house in Suburban Acres Mobile Home Park, Warsaw, to go for a walk. She left with only the clothes she was wearing and her cell phone.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department Detective Todd Sautter said the last alleged sighting of Shoemaker was made the week after she disappeared. Since then, sporadic tips were received and police continued to follow up on all leads, but as of today, Sautter said new leads have stopped coming in.

Sautter has said from the beginning that Shoemaker is not in trouble as she is legally an adult and can leave home as she pleases. However, he said she does need to contact a family member or the police just to let someone know she is ok and the search should end. “I’ve told everyone who may know where she is the same thing,” he explained. “We just need to talk to her to make sure she’s ok.”

At this point, authorities have no clues to believe Shoemaker’s disappearance is not of her own free will, but they will continue to follow any leads.

StaceyPageOnline.com has reached out to several family members of Shoemaker for comment, but no one has offered any additional information.

Shoemaker is 5 feet 9 inches tall with short strawberry blonde hair. She has blue/green eyes, a thin frame and piercings on her lip.Information on Shoemaker’s whereabouts should be directed to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department at 574-267-5667.
