AK47 Rounds Hit Etna Green Home
Stray rounds from what police believe to be an AK47 assault rifle were found in an Etna Green home Saturday afternoon and an investigation is under way.
According to information provided to StaceyPageOnline.com from a family member, one bullet penetrated the siding of the home at 8895 W. CR 100 S. The bullet then went through a wall of the home and entered a guest bedroom where it destroyed part of a dresser and shattered a picture frame. The home is owned by Gary and Marla Sue Kuhn.
Information from the county’s CAD system indicates officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department were called at 4:04 p.m. Saturday. Deputy Chris Anderson has not yet completed a report on the call, but Sgt. Chad Hill, public information officer for the KCSD, says Detective Josh Spangle of the Crime Scene Investigation unit was called to the scene and collected bullet fragments as evidence.
“Initially it appears accidental,” said Hill, noting completed paperwork will be sent to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if a crime or criminal act occurred. In speaking with investigators, Hill said an AK47 is believed to have been the weapon and it was located. No suspect, however, has been named.
