Larsh confirms that agents are also at the home of the club’s owner, Sam Stimmel on Syracuse-Webster Road, but ISP officers are on scene only as a uniformed presence.
Kerry Hannigan is the public information officer for the IRS and also confirms to StaceyPageOnline.com that agents from the IRS Criminal Investigation Division are at the business and at Stimmel’s private residence “on official business,” but declined to say anything further.
Agents on scene provided StaceyPageOnline.com with the name of Assistant U.S. Attorney Jesse Barrett who works for the federal courts in South Bend. Barrett referred our questions to Mary Hatton of the U.S. Attorney’s office in Hammond. Hatton has not yet responded to our inquries.
Robert Ramsey, public information officer for the FBI Fort Wayne district, said no FBI agents were involved in today’s raid.
According to agents on scene, employees of the business are being told that, when the agents clear the scene, the business will be allowed to re-open. Normal business hours begin at 3:30 p.m.
