Blooms Celebrate 60th Anniversary
Milton and Doris (Harden) Bloom will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 7.
They were married in 1952 at Claypool United Brethren Church. Rev. L. Kenneth Kraft officiated, assisted by Rev. Wayne Johnson.
After the wedding, the couple lived at the Whidbey Island, Wash., naval air station until Milt completed his four year Navy enlistment. Upon returning to Claypool, they were co-owners of Bloom’s Store. Later, Milt worked for Borden Milk Co. until becoming a bookkeeper for 30 years. Doris was a homemaker and real estate agent for 27 years.
The Blooms are active members of the Claypool United Methodist Church and of their community. They have four children: Larry (LaDonna) Bloom, Warsaw; Shirlee (Tim) Hauth, Warsaw; Angela Hough, Claypool; and Anne (Paul) Sailor, White Pigeon, Mich. They have 10 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
The couple will celebrate their anniversary in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and later with a family gathering.
