The Wawasee Kiwanis Triathlon will take to the streets of Syracuse and greater Milford for the fifth time this Saturday, Aug. 11.

The triathlon centers around Lakeside Park in Syracuse. The community center will be the home base for the event, located at 1013 N. Long Dr. Proceeds from the event will benefit the charitable activities of the Kiwanis Club in the greater Syracuse area. The swim, bike and run race, sanctioned by USA Triathlon, has divisions based on age and gender, plus team categories.

The race will consist of a quarter-mile swim, out and back, in Syracuse Lake. a 13.25-mile bike ride to Milford and back; then a 3.3-mile run around Syracuse. Awards will be presented to the overall male and female winners, plus winners in each age category. Local merchants will donate prizes for a drawing among all contestants.
