UPDATE: Indy to Bid on Another Super Bowl
The 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee and community leaders met this morning to discuss the economic impact of this year’s Super Bowl — and they liked what they heard.
An independent study estimates the economic impact of Super Bowl 46 at more than $10 million, and Host Committee Chairman Mark Miles says that’s a conservative estimate.
Miles adds the study shows this year’s Super Bowl attracted 116 thousand visitors to the city from outside a 50 mile radius.
He says many of the donors who contributed to Super Bowl 46 are lined up again to bring another NFL title game to the Circle City.
Miles is also upbeat about the possibility of Indianapolis becoming a regular Super Bowl site, but cautions the city needs to take things “one step at a time.”
