An 83-year-old woman was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment of minor facial bleeding and an elbow injury after her vehicle was struck by a car that ran a red light.
The accident happened on Center Street at Harrison Street in Warsaw and resulted in the eastbound lane of Center Street being blocked to eastbound traffic for approximately 30 minutes.
According to a police report, Sally Crutchfield, 58, of Warsaw, was headed west on Center Street and disregarded a red light. She struck a vehicle, driven by Shirley Townsend, 83, also of Warsaw, which was traveling south on Harrison Street. The impact sent Townsend’s vehicle into a third car that was stopped at the light in the eastbound lane of Center Street. That vehicle was occupied by Carlos Sawdey Jr., 39, of Payne, Ohio. Sawdey was not injured.
Warsaw Police investigated the crash. No citations were issued.
